Legal Framework (Removal of Difficulty) Order, 2002.

Chief Executive’s Order No. 37 of 2002

WHEREAS clause (2) of Article 3 of the Legal Framework Order, 2002 (Chief Executive’s Order No. 24 of 2002) provides that if any difficulty arises in giving effect to any of the provisions of the said Order, the Chief Executive may pass or promulgate such order for removing the difficulty as he may deem fit;

WHEREAS as a result of the General Elections the composition of the National Assembly is such that no single political party has a clear majority in the Parliament.

WHEREAS political parties are having parleys and may arrive at a consensus which may necessitate amendments in the Law and the Constitution.

WHEREAS difficulties have arisen as a consequence of the above.

AND WHEREAS it is necessary to remove such difficulties.

NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of the Proclamation of Emergency of the fourteenth day of October, 1999, read with the Provisional Constitution Order No. 1 of 1999, and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is pleased to make and promulgate the following Order :-

1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Order may be called the Legal Framework (Removal of Difficulty) Order, 2002.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Chief Executive to act as such till Prime Minister takes oath of his office.-Notwithstanding anything contained in the Constitution or any other law for the time being in force, the Chief Executive shall continue to act as such and shall perform all functions, exercise all powers and pass all appropriate Orders till the Prime Minister takes oath of office in accordance with the Constitution.
