
Profile of the Associates
Mr. Zain Sheikh completed his LL.B in 1976 and was placed in the first Division. In 1978 he completed a course of study leading to the award of a master’s degree in law (LL.M) from the London School of Economics. His specializations were Industrial and Intellectual property laws, Aviation Law and Labour law.
In the last 20 years Mr. Sheikh has been involved in extensive research in the field of Constitutional law and has edited a handbook on the Constitution of Pakistan, 1973.
After ten years experience with law firms in his areas of specialization in Pakistan and the U.S.A. Mr. Sheikh established the firm in 1990.
Mr. Sheikh is now enrolled as an advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Mr. Sheikh is also a Professor of law at the S.M. Law College, Karachi. Between 1984 to the present time Mr. Zain Sheikh has taught Comparative Constitutional Law and Jurisprudence at this premier institution for imparting legal education in Pakistan.

- Mr. Zafar Iqbal, LL.M.
Mr. Iqbal completed his LL.B. in 1972 from the Punjab University, Lahore and in 1973 he completed a course of study leading to the award of a master’s degree in law (LL.M.) from Harvard University, U.S.A. His dissertation at Harvard University was on the theory of law in Jurisprudence.
Between 1975 and 2009 Mr. Iqbal served the Government of Pakistan. In that time he held several senior responsible positions, such as Member Federal Board of Revenue and Member Customs, Excise and Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal, Director General Customs Valuation and Member Resource Mobilization Commission.
During the years of his service, Mr. Iqbal has taught Business and Commercial Law at the University of Karachi, Pakistan College of Law, Lahore and the Pakistan Institute of Management Sciences.
Mr. Iqbal’s area of expertise is commercial law, International, customs, customs valuation, VAT practices and corporate law, revenue laws such as Income Tax and Sales Tax and he will now be associated with the firm.
- Mr. Kashan Anwar, Advocate and IPR Assistant.
Mr. Anwar has been associated with the firm since 2004 and in 2007 he completed a course of study leading to the award of a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and in 2012 was awarded the degree of Bachelor of laws (LL.B) from the S.M. Law College.
Mr. Anwar is the IPR Assistant in the firm and deals with all filings requirements with the Trade Marks Registry and Central Copyright Office in Pakistan.
In addition to the above, Mr. Anwar is in charge of updating the legal software package entitled “LAWMAN” on Constitutional Law developed by the firm and the website of the firm, namely, www.pakistanconstitutionlaw.com.
- Mr. Mohammad Mehboob, LL.B.
Mr. Mehboob completed his LL.B. in 1994 and has been associated with the firm since 1997.
Mr. Mehboob supervises the preparation and filing of all court documentation in the High Court. He also ensures compliance with the directions of the Court and handles miscellaneous Court work.
- Mr. Azhar Shahzad, Registered TM Agent and Office Administrator
Mr. Shahzad has been associated with the firm since 1999 and in 2005 he completed a course of study leading to the award of a Bachelor’s degree in Arts.
Mr. Shahzad is the Senior Registered Trade Marks Agent and Office Administrator in the Firm. He independently handles all office work in relation to applications for registration of trademarks, copyrights, patents and industrial designs.
Mr. Shahzad also assists in the preparation of pleadings in all Superior Courts and in respect of Opposition and Rectification matters, relating to intellectual property rights in the various Registries.
- Mr. Syed Munawwar Ali, Registered TM Agent.
Mr. Ali has been a Registered Trade Marks Agent for the last 35 years and associated with the firm since November, 2008.
Mr. Ali worked for Surridge & Beecheno, Advocates and Corporate Consultants, for more than thirty (30) years in its Intellectual Property Division and appeared before the Controller of Patents and Designs and Registrars of Trade Marks and Copyright in contested matters.
- Mr. Ali Ahmed Shah B.A.; M.A. (Prev.)
Mr. Shah is a student of law and is enrolled in the second year of the University of London Ext. LL.B. Programme.
Mr. Shah was first associated with the firm between June, 2006 and July, 2007 and from September, 2009 to the present time. He assists Mr. Sheikh in all matters including legal research and preparation of opinions. His special area of interest is Trade Marks Law in Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
Mr. Shah has also been associated with various other reputable law firms. When he worked for Farrukh Zia Sheikh & Associates he was involved in legal drafting and research. He was also an apprentice with M/s Khalid Ishaq & Company.
- Sher Mansoor Khan LL.B.
Mr. Khan has successfully completed his LL.B. from the University of London.
Mr. Khan has been associated with the firm since January, 2014. He assists Mr. Sheikh in all matter of legal research and preparation of legal documents and opinions. His special areas of interest include Intellectual Property Law and Constitutional Law.
Mr. Khan has also been associated with other reputable law firms and non-profit organizations
7. Zakaullah Khan Manager Accounts
Mr. Khan completed a course of study leading to the award of a bachelor’s degree in Commerce in 1985. Mr. Khan has worked with the firm in the capacity of Accountant, since 2006. During his long career, he has worked with the Cotton Export Corporation of Pakistan and PEF Degree College, Karachi.
